The New Google Assistant
In 2019 the Google Assistant was redesigned to be faster, lighter weight and more helpful than ever. With the introduction of gesture navigation in Android 10, there needed to be a new way to access the Assistant with the previous home button affordance being removed. I was responsible for designing a seamless gestural access point to the Assistant. I designed a system of motion that would reinforce and help teach the spatial relationship across all invocation methods (“Okay Google”, Squeeze, Button Press and Corner Gesture).
